Making a Difference

In middle school I discovered my forever passion for helping those in need and using food to do it! I love how food can bring others together and completely change the way people feel inside and out.
Volunteer Experience

Noah Homes
This is one of my favorite nonprofits to volunteer at. At Noah Homes I worked with older adults who have developmental disabilities. I prepared small meals and organized games, arts and crafts, and other activities for the residents to participate in. This was definitely my favorite organizing to work with growing up because I had a family member living at Noah Homes at the time.
Bannister House of UC San Diego Health
At the Bannister House I prepared comforting and nutritious dinners for families with loved ones staying in critical or long-term care at UC San Diego Health Medical Center. This non-profit allowed me to utilize my skills of nutrition while bringing comfort to families going through difficult times.

Rachel's Women's Center
Rachel’s Women Center in downtown San Diego is an amazing organization for homeless and underprivileged women. My role was to prepare and serve dinner to the residents. I was thankful for this opportunity because it allowed me to use my passion for cooking to create comforting and nutrient dense meals for women in need of a quality meal.
Refugee Health Alliance
RHA in Tijuana is an organization which provides medical services to displaced/deported families, women, children, LGBTQ refugees and asylum seekers. My role is translating, triage, and taking vitals. This experience has been eye opening and heightened my passion for helping the underserved communities. I have learned the importance of using your privilege to take responsibility for making changes that will help others in less fortunate situations.
